| Summary |
Kangaroo Dundee is an entertaining series that highlights the life and work of Chris 'Brolga' Barnes - a man who has dedicated his life to rescuing and raising orphan kangaroos.From his sanctuary in the bush outside Alice Springs Chris cares for his orphans, and spends months training and preparing them so that one day they can be released back into the wild.Over the episodes we meet the most recent additions to his kangaroo family - orphan joeys Rex and Ruby. Fragile at first, Chris must provide them with constant care, from night feeds and toilet training, to coaching them to use a pillowcase as a pouch. Over the series we follow their progress. Will they overcome the obstacles that face them and one day be ready for release?Living in a tin shack with no power, Chris's life can be a lonely one, but out in his sanctuary, we meet the kangaroo clan who keep him busy; including Ella who teaches Chris the tricks of raising joeys, and mob boss Roger who takes trespassers on his turf extremely seriously.We also meet Chris's fellow kangaroo carers in Alice Springs.
