With a growing evidence base linking nutrition with specific diseases and disorders-including oral disease-and the advent of genomics and proteomics illuminating the response of whole systems to nutrients, it is clear that nutrition will be playing an even more significant role in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of human disease.
