The purpose of this report to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW) was to inform the commission of advances in women's political, civil, economic, social, and cultural lives that had taken place since the previous meeting. In addition, this report gave an overview of the sessions of the Seventh Assembly of the Inter-American Commission of Women (Comisión Interamericana de Mujeres (CIM)) held in Santiago, Chile in 1951.
