*Coarse Language*Five black former members of the Harlem tap-dancing troupe, The Silver Belles, now aged from 84 to 96, put their dancing shoes back on 25 years ago and regained the fame and fun they had during their heyday in the 1930s.They may not kick as high now, but they are hip-swaying, sharp and showbiz savvy, perform to standing ovations and are as sassy as ever. They met in Harlem, dancing in the chorus lines at the Apollo Theatre, the Cotton Club, Small's Paradise and Connie's Inn, performing with legendary band leaders like Duke Ellington and dancer Bill Bojangles Robinson. When the big band era ended, they went into other work.Each of the Silver Belles has a distinct personality, and they relish their weekly rehearsals.This film shows their love of their craft, the music, the laughter and the arguments of a friendship that has continued over 70 years.
