Summary |
This case explores the experience of Sidra Medicine, an academic medical center in the State of Qatar, as it implemented an agile management model and Kanban board to manage an accreditation project aimed at acquiring Joint Commission International Accreditation. Sidra management found the model, along with a Kanban layout, helpful in allowing teams to self-organize and review milestones at distinct times, thus saving time and money. The case protagonist argues that this model of project management should be used with future hospital projects and is preparing to defend this choice of management style when certain challenges and conditions exist. Students are encouraged to assess the feasibility and benefits of agile project management and associated tools in similar healthcare settings |
