Summary |
The funniest mission of World War II finds Clint Eastwood, Telly Savalas, Don Rickles, Donald Sutherland and Carroll O'Connor on furlough-and on an unofficial mission to rob a bank behind enemy lines. Eastwood, in a classic performance as Kelly, learns of a fortune in gold bars the Germans have stashed in a small French bank, 30 miles into enemy-held territory. Don Rickles, as Sgt. Crapgame, is quick to see the beauty of Kelly's idea, and he in turn recruits Donald Sutherland and the craziest platoon of tankers you'll ever see! As Oddball, their laid back "leader", Sutherland pipes in easy listening music for his gunners. And when the "task force" signs on Big Joe - Telly Savalas in fine tough-guy form- the operation is a go! Back at head-quarters, General Carroll O'Connor roots them on as they charge into enemy territory. Little does he know what he's really rooting for! The action comes thick and fast as Kelly's heroes thunders toward a climax that combines excitement, suspense and laughs, all in one explosive finish! |
