Summary This report presents data on government funded health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Australia, for the period 2008-2009. The main services reported on are primary health care services, substance use services, and counselling services offered through the Bringing Them Home and Link Up programs. These services are crucial for preventing and addressing the major risk factors for chronic disease, and restoring social and emotional wellbeing. Information is included on programs and activities offered, clients, access, workforce and staffing, and location. In the 2008/2009 period, primary health care services assisted approximately 375,000 clients, substance use services assisted approximately 23,000 clients, and the Bringing Them Home and Link Up counselling services provided counselling to around 8,400 clients
