Alkaline Single-Cell Gel Electrophoresis Assay -- See Comet Assay
A genotoxicological technique for measuring DNA damage in an individual cell using single-cell gel electrophoresis. Cell DNA fragments assume a "comet with tail" formation on electrophoresis and are detected with an image analysis system. Alkaline assay conditions facilitate sensitive detection of single-strand damage
Here are entered works on soils with greater than thirteen percent sodium content. Works on sodium in soils with less than thirteen percent sodium content are entered under Soils--Sodium content

Alkaloids -- Periodicals : The alkaloids. Vol. 1. A review of the literature published between January 1969 and June 1970 / senior reporter J.E. Saxton
Organic nitrogenous bases. Many alkaloids of medical importance occur in the animal and vegetable kingdoms, and some have been synthesized. (Grant & Hackh's Chemical Dictionary, 5th ed)
Alkaloids, mainly tropanes, elaborated by plants of the family Solanaceae, including Atropa, Hyoscyamus, Mandragora, Nicotiana, Solanum, etc. Some act as cholinergic antagonists; most are very toxic; many are used medicinally
