Zu zahlreichen Künstlern und Bildern wurden neue Daten recherchiert. Die Adressen aller Museen sind aktualisiert. Erstmals sind auch - so vorhanden - die E-Mail- und Internetadressen der Museen aufgeführt. Mit Hilfe von Gemälde in Museen finden Sie Gemälde, Pastelle, Gouachen und Bilder in Mischtechnik aller Epochen, Genres und Stile. Für über 178.000 Gemälde von ca. 31.200 Künstlern liegt somit ein umfassender, aktueller Katalog vor. Gemälde in Museen besteht aus drei Teilen: Künstler und ihre Werke Ikonographisches Verzeichnis Verzeichnis der Museen mit ihren Bildern Künstler und ihre Werke führt die Künstler in alphabetischer Reihenfolge mit ihren biographischen Daten auf. Die Bilder sind nach ihren Standorten aufgelistet. Angegeben sind jeweils Bildtitel, Entstehungsjahr, Material und Format. Das Ikonographische Verzeichnis erschließt die Werke in fast 300 Motivgruppen nach Bildinhalten und Themen. Im Verzeichnis der Museen mit ihren Bildern erscheinen alle Gemälde nach Museen geordnet Paintings in Museums presents a systematic index of the entire holdings of works, both on display and in deposits, owned by over 645 museums in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. This edition, recording some 36,000 paintings, 8,600 artists and 100 museums more than its predecessor, is also the first one to incorporate museums in Austria and Switzerland.
