Summary |
Born in India, raised first in Kenya, and then in England by a single mother, there were two consistent things in life for Clive Gillinson: music and math. He studied cello, and played with London Symphony Orchestra, when he agreed to manage the struggling organization. He turned the Orchestra around, nurtured relationships with its musicians, patrons and audience, expanding its scope. But he did not imagine at the time that he would grow to enjoy and excel at the business side of music, and position himself for an even more prestigious post. Big Decisions sits down with Clive Gillinson, Artistic and Executive Director of New York City's famed Carnegie Hall |
