Summary |
This is an anthology of short stories written by Italian Australian multi-generation, and Italian affiliated, women. The stories centre around the women's experiences of COVID-19 during 2020, including some of the strictest lockdowns in the world. The stories are informed by the women's responses to COVID and mediated through their Italian heritage and migration legacies. The women come from around Australia and London, and belong to a collective known as Ascolta Women. They meet regularly via zoom to discuss their Italian heritage and migration legacies, within current geopolitical contexts and to story their experiences through creative writing, photography and artwork. Ascolta Women also contribute to international conferences on identities of belonging within intersectional frameworks and feminist perspectives. This is the first of Ascolta Women's publications |
