Summary |
This film documents the recent work of Janet Adler, the noted movement therapist whose earlier work was profiled 20 years ago in the classic film, 'Looking for Me.'#x9D; Here she works with eight women through a practice called Authentic Movement. Authentic Movement is concerned with the relationship between moving and witnessing; it assumes complete trust in the body's capacity to remember and to tell the truth. As the film progresses, the eight women engage in a deepening process of self-directed movement in the presence of a witness; then they learn to be witnesses themselves. Moving and witnessing take the women toward an integration of body and spirit, toward wholeness. 'Still Looking'#x9D; is essential viewing dance therapy and movement classes and will stimulate discussion in a wide variety of courses in psychology, therapy, dance, spirituality, and women's studies. It was produced by Janet Adler |
