Summary |
"Driving a car with an automatic transmission may be relatively simple, but the machinery isn't! Technicians-in-training need a clear and thorough visual guide. This video provides an in-depth technological grounding that will enable students to troubleshoot and repair systems which make up today's automatic transmissions. Topics include transmission case construction; transmission hydraulics; electronic components, in particular the onboard computer or electronic control module (ECM) and how it sends signals to solenoids in the transmission valve body; the torque converter and its constituent parts; the holding devices that engage the different gear sets, including friction disks, bands, and one-way clutches; and the planetary gear sets, including sun, planet, carrier, and ring gears, as well as the parking pawl used to lock the transmission output shaft. A detailed section on various kinds of hybrid automatic transmission is also presented"--Container |
