Summary SURPLUS The budget is coming up, when we finally get to see how the federal government is planning to spend the country's money. This budget is going to be a bit different though, because the government has repeatedly said it is looking for cuts, in an effort to achieve a surplus in the future. We also look at the economy and how the decisions made in the budget can effect it.ANTIBIOTIC ISSUESLast week, the World Health Organisation released a warning - superbugs aren't just coming for us - they're already here. Superbugs are the name given to infectious bacteria that have developed a resistance to the antibiotics we traditionally treat them with. We delve into the biological reasons behind resistance and what can be done to protect us all.CYCLING LICENSESShould cyclists have to be licensed? That's an idea brought up by a minister from NSW after two really bad car-bike crashes recently. But that would have a big impact on a lot of kids, who rely on their bike for transport to and from school. We'll speak to two kids who have very different thoughts on the plan, and take a look at road safety and transport along the way.VOLUNTEER WEEKIt's volunteer week, a time when we're encouraged to pay tribute to those who give up their time for others.
