In addition the services and utilities on public land that support everyday life - the schools, roads, railways, local parks, hospitals, water catchments and sewage treatment plants - all contribute to Melbourne's liveability. VEAC has comprehensively mapped all public land across the investigation area identifying its ownership (i.e. whether it is Crown land, or owned by a department or other government agency) and its primary use. This is the first time that this information has been compiled for urban Melbourne.
