Summary |
This dataset is designed for teaching basic approaches for including age as a continuous or categorical variable when analysing survey data. The dataset focuses on age as a continuous or categorical predictor in an Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression, showing how to categorise a continuous variable for analysis and exploring non-linear relationships between predictor and outcome variables. The dataset is a subset of data derived from the British Crime Survey 2007 (BCS 2007), and the example examines ways of exploring the relationship between age and a measure of feelings of safety in public spaces. The dataset file is accompanied by a Teaching Guide, a Student Guide, and a How-to Guide for Stata |
