Summary |
The puppets prepare to go camping, and once there, Dodly collects stones and uses measurement to make damper. The puppet and animated segments look at: the attribute of capacity, ie. how much a container can hold; full and empty (and overflow); the conservation of capacity; and the use of informal multiple and single units to measure capacity.Through two puppet monsters, Dodly and Flynn, animations, songs and rhymes, Count Us In takes young viewers through a lively and fun exploration of mathematics topics. Areas covered follow mathematic curriculum content strands investigating pattern, number, measurement and chance and data.In each program the content develops from the use of concrete representation of numbers to exploring problems where there is less reliance on such representation. There is also a strong emphasis on mathematical language and on encouraging estimation and self-correction |
