Summary An orientation of the symptomatology of depression of the vulnerability factors that may contribute to the increased development of depression in women begin this portfolio. Four case studies of females experiencing depression at different times across the lifespan are presented to illustrate how the empirically identified vulnerability factors may have contributed to the development of their depression. The effectiveness of treating the women using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is discussed
