AIR SAFETYThe huge tragedy of flight MH17, which was shot down over Ukraine last week, is still being felt around the world. But as the investigation into what happened gets underway, many kids have been left worried about the thought of having to get on a plane themselves. So this week, BtN discovers what safeguards are already in place, and what lessons can be learnt from this tragedy, to make sure the skies are as safe as possible.PUNISHING KIDSThe way kids are punished was a big talking point this week. First the National Children's Commissioner said that putting kids in a 'naughty corner' might go against their rights. Then, a national education advisor said he would support the return of corporal punishment in some schools. So what is right and wrong when it comes to teaching kids right from wrong? BtN delves into history, ethics and the International Rights of Children to find out.TEACHER RESOURCES INCLUDEDLearning areas -English/Literacy/Interacting with others Clarify understanding of content as it unfolds in formal and informal situations, connecting ideas to students' own experiences and present and justify a point of view.
