Summary |
Tall, flowering and with a distinctive smell, wherever you are in Australia you are bound to see one - the eucalypt. With over 900 species, it is the quintessential Australian tree. Not only has it helped shape and define the continent and its people, but eucalypts have also produced some of the most spectacular forests in the world. Celebrate the uniqueness, diversity and splendour of this iconic tree through the recollections of two people fascinated by the eucalypt, writer Ashley Hay and botanist Dean Nicolle. Ashley went searching for people whose lives were changed by their passion for Australia's great tree and found, in the process, her own life changing. Meanwhile Dean is living out a childhood dream. Since he was a teenager, Dean has wanted to plant nearly every species of eucalypt. He's now turning this into reality at his research facility in South Australia.
