Summary |
A happy home for children usually involves a loving and supportive family. But what happens when the family itself is dangerous or even deadly? For the past decade, governments across the country have kept kids in troubled families, rather than remove them to foster care. But the Victorian Government thinks that's gone too far and is now acting to have children permanently removed from dangerous or neglectful parents. It's a delicate balancing act. Tonight, Insight is in Melbourne, at a place called Art Play where children can come to express themselves creatively. In a moment, Insight talks to former foster kids, birth parents and foster parents from across the country, as well as others involved in child protection.
