The purpose of this study was to gain insight into the understanding of the concept of ̀fatherhood' among Somali fathers. The study consisted of a focus group with six Somali fathers of different ages and from different social backgrounds. The focus group was conducted in Somali, with the transcripts later translated into English. Issues with regard to collecting data in one language and presenting the findings in another are addressed in this article, with critical reflection on my positionality as an engaged researcher
