Summary |
This work explores some of the practices involved in analysing qualitative longitudinal interview data. Qualitative longitudinal (QLL) studies involve more than one round of data collection with the same respondents at different points in time, and frequently (although not exclusively) involve interviews. The focus of QLL studies is often on particular life events or transitions, as the design facilitates an exploration of change over time. Both quantitative and qualitative longitudinal research consider issues of change over time, yet a qualitative approach towards transitions recognises that these changes are differentially experienced and interpreted, and seeks to explore peoples' subjective experiences |
