Summary This dataset exemplar focuses on the analysis of semi-structured interviews, taking a thematic, grounded theory approach. The extracts provided are from interviews conducted as part of a project that aimed to explore the experience of being a parent of a child with a rare genetic disease: 22q11 deletion syndrome, associated with a wide range of symptoms, including heart defects, immune deficiency and cleft palate. Semi-structured interviews were used to explore parents' accounts of living with a child diagnosed with the disorder
