Summary |
In Boroondara in the 1860s, two villages existed side by side: Camberwell and Hartwell, each with 150 denizens. But over time, Camberwell swallowed Hartwell, and today the latter is merely a neighbourhood. Hartwell's name lives on in buildings and groups such as the Hartwell Players -- Melbourne's oldest amateur theatre group -- and even the Hartwell Motorcycle Club, one of the state's oldest and largest. These tidbits and more can be found in this book |
