Summary |
A report on the lawsuit against Boston Scientific, the manufacturer of gynecological mesh, a medical device implanted in women's bodies for relief after pregnancy that has caused severe harm and injury, sometimes resulting in death. When the manufacturer Chevron Phillips became concerned with medical use of its plastic called Marlex, it cut off the supply to Boston Scientific, which then turned to counterfeit Chinese plastic. More than 100,000 women are suing Boston Scientific in what is the largest multi-litigation case since Asbestos. Includes interviews with: Gwyn Madsen, woman with mesh implant; Dr. Michael Margolis, surgeon who has removed mesh implants; Duane Priddy, plastics engineer, American Chemical Society fellow; Chris DeArmitt, plastics engineer; Theresa Stevens, woman with mesh implant |
