This project documented features of the ideas and everyday practices that shape the culture of literacy use in five urban Queensland schools and investigated a number of issues, the most important of which were: what are the relationships between school and home literacy practices?; how do home and school literacy practices impact on or interact with each other?; what is the relationship between designated levels of 'disadvantage', literacy practices, and school/educational experience?
