Summary |
Jean Christophe Maillot's creation for the Ballets de Monte Carlo is a highly charged and erotic interpretation of Ravel's ballet, discarding the traditional pointes and adopting a loose and sensuous choreography which goes well beyond the classical repertoire. The use of cameras on stage, following the dancers' moves and allowing close contact, is an original and now trademark presentation of Maillot's work.
