Parents' guide ; 7 |
Summary |
The Parents Guide explores what is going on in schools today and discusses some of the key issues from a parent's point of view. In this programme, presenter Fiona Millar and two parents, together with education consultant Bill Davies, discuss how English and maths are being taught in primary schools. They look at some Teachers TV programmes and see how the subjects are changing, with new challenges for teachers, pupils and of course, parents. Viewers can hear the opinions of the panel and gain an insight into what other schools are doing in this area. They debate how teaching reading and writing has changed, what the secret of encouraging boys in English is, how parents can support their child's learning, what a great lesson on fractions can look like and how pupils can enjoy maths |
