Summary |
"Mr. Allan Aldous is a new writer for boys, and in this, his first story, he has drawn a character that should win the enthusiastic approval and admiration of all young readers. Garry McGowan is a sporting journalist, who travels hither and thither about the world reporting big sporting events for a London newspaper. Learning by accident that an expedition is about to set out to attack a formidable Himalayan peak, hitherto considered unclimbable, McGowan, with some difficulty, gets himself taken on the strength. A dramatic turn is given to the climb when it becomes known that an American party, sponsored by a newspaper group, is also attempting it, and the two expeditions move out on more or less parallel lines for the summit. There are many thrills, many narrow escapes, before McGowan is able to report to the world that Kinchinga has been conquered." -- Dust jacket |
