Summary
"This is the story of a product that General Electric manufactures but doesn't advertise to the public--and of people who are working to change the deadliest business of all, the nuclear weapons industry"--title screen. During the last half of the 20th century, as GE was airing its rosy "We bring good things to life" commercials, it was deeply involved in building and testing nuclear weapons. This work resulted in human and environmental effects--poisonings, cancers, and birth defects--and a campaign was begun to inform the public and expose and stop the company's dangerous activities. Nine months after this powerful film won an Academy Award in 1992, the corporate giant did indeed pull out of the deadliest business of all
