Summary |
Clinical and behavioral psychology provides health care with powerful tools for mental health disorder management, which have minimal side effects and which correct maladaptive perception, habits, and behavior and thus have long and robust positive impact on the patient's health. There are, however, obstacles for wider implementation of clinical psychology in everyday clinical practice--namely, difficulties in creating a robust theoretical base for psychological intervention and the challenges linked to conducting randomized clinical trials. The aim of this case is to describe the internal logic in the development of an intervention in clinical psychology with examples, to review the approaches to overcome the limits in patient-outcome-oriented studies in clinical and behavioral psychology, and to propose designs to facilitate their implementation |
