Summary |
A Slovenian company, specializing in green fuel technologies, has developed a unique approach to plasma arc pyrolysis (a process that enables conversion of chemical compounds into other compounds without burning) that will partially solve a persistent problem in the market: the need to sort organic origin waste streams before they go through a pyrolytic process. However, the primary inventor, Giovanni Lombardi (pseudonym), has a big problem: To protect his invention he needs to file a patent with the Slovenian patent office. One of the requirements of filing the patent is a full disclosure of the way in which the technology works. This is a standard protocol. However, the modification that Giovanni has created is, while highly original, very easy to duplicate. He is very worried about what might happen to his first-mover's advantage in the market. He decides to hire Darius Jacobs, an external consultant in intellectual property, to help him solve this problem |
