Summary The purpose of this book is to provide a detailed guide to the principles and practice relating to construction contracts. It is mainly aimed at less experienced surveying practitioners and students reading for degrees in the various branches of surveying, who need to know not only what should be done in the variety of circumstances arising from the use of construction contracts, but how it should be done. Consequently, the approach adopted has been to consider in an ordered manner, the duties of the surveyor in the light of the principal provisions of the JCT Standard Form of Building Contract, as those duties should be dealt with in accordance with accepted good practice. This has been supported by detailed examples enabling the reader to appreciate how the provisions of the Standard Form should be addressed and how the duties laid upon the surveyor in relation to them should be discharged
