Summary |
Radioactive material from the Sellafield nuclear plant in the UK has been detected in Norwegian waters. The Sellafield plant was built over fifty years ago by the British government to produce electricity and plutonium for the making of atomic bombs. Now it has reconverted into a nuclear waste processing plant, but security is still not guaranteed and fires, leakage and accidental toxic discharge have occurred over the years.
