In this case, Kevin Larson, the VP of outbound logistics at seafood packaging company Omega Seafoods, is faced with the dilemma of how to handle unethical practices related to the company's supply chain, ingredient use, and product labeling. Working in logistics, Larson has no authority over procurement and labeling. Moreover, he feels the need for awareness and change in the company is too urgent for him to simply rely on exercising his moral influence on those leaders who do have the power to turn things around. His initial efforts to have senior management stop the practices were futile; he even received a subtle threat that made him believe his job was at stake if he escalated the matter further. This worried Larson because he had struggled with unemployment while many companies were flattening out their management structure.
