Summary |
Given the detrimental effects of smoking dependence on people's health and given the modest effects of current treatments on smoking cessation, my co-authors and I were curious to explore the effectiveness of alternative therapies, such as mindfulness, in the treatment of smoking. Specifically, we conducted a systematic review and a meta-analysis of the efficacy of mindfulness training in smoking cessation compared with standard behavioral treatments. This case study describes the steps followed to conduct our study and some research challenges that we encountered during this process. Overall, the main aim of this research case is to describe the basic structure of a systematic review and meta-analysis |
