Summary |
The case describes the success of the Centre for Rural Development (CRD) in the poverty stricken rural Appalachia region of Kentucky. The CRD provides web-based education and support services for local communities as well as supporting regional artists through programmes. Finally, The centre's entrepreneurial training resources are available to all individuals or groups, and leadership training opportunities have encouraged the growth of small business and civic participation throughout the region. The student is invited to consider the benefits of the CRD for the local communities and the challenges the organisation faces in terms of securing long-term funding |
