Summary |
The Popxop, Yãmiyxop Monkeys, are allied singers of the Tikmúun / Maxakali people, today residents of Vale do Mucuri, in Minas Gerais, Brazil. Periodically, they come to the villages to spend a long period, which can last for a few months, to deal with the homesickness of their mothers and fathers, male and female shamans Tikmúun / Maxakali. They sing the stories, secrets, paths and views of the Atlantic Forest, imitating and narrating songs from other groups of Yãmiyxop, enchanted singing beings who also accompany and protect the Tikmúun / Maxakali. Bringing knowledge and joyful experiences, they guarantee the health of the community and celebrate shamanic encounters that cross the territory and time |
