Summary |
"In early 2007 Paul Kelly asked a number of his friends to donate their time to record versions of songs by Kev Carmody, for what was to become the album Cannot Buy My Soul. In January 2008, most of them, including Kev Carmody himself, came together at the State Theatre in Sydney for the stage production. Once again, the artists involved donated their time to the project, which went on to become one of the most powerful and emotional concerts Sydney has ever heard. This documentary, directed by feature film maker Paul Goldman (Suburban Mayhem) and produced by Toby Creswell and Danielle Kelly (producers of Great Australian Albums) centres around this incredible concert. The cast includes Paul Kelly, Clare Bowditch, the Herd, Missy Higgins, Dan Kelly, Steve Kilbey, Last Kinection, Tex Perkins, the Pigram Brothers, Glenn Richards from Augie March, Sara Storer, Dan Sultan, the Drones and Last Kinection. Using footage from the rehearsals, live performances and backstage interviews, Goldman weaves an emotional story which captures not only the magic of that week, but al by SBSi, in English) (Entertainment) M CC |
