Treasury hosted the inaugural conference, zMacroeconomic Policy and Structural Change in East Asia3, in Sydney on 24 and 25 February, 2005. The conference is to be a biennial event as part of Australia?s ongoing efforts to support policy dialogue and to promote economic growth and security in East Asia. The conference provided an opportunity for policymakers to discuss medium-term economic policy issues facing governments in Asia and beyond, in an open and relaxed atmosphere. Issues discussed included international dimensions to domestic macroeconomic policy and adjustment; domestic dimensions to policy and change; and domestic institutions supporting policy and change |
