Summary This case outlines how I analyzed migrants experiences of diagnosis and treatment for tuberculosis in Sydney, Australia, drawing on post-structuralist Discourse Theory and specific qualitative methods. I outline the study setting and basis for the research, before introducing the approach to data collection, which involved semi-structured interviews, and, critically, analysis of this "text" using concepts adapted from Discourse Theory. I illustrate how participants sought initial diagnosis and navigated access to health care services, as well as how they subsequently negotiated their experiences of treatment and its side effects. I close by outlining the import of an approach informed by Discourse Theory for researchers in the areas of health and social care
