Summary |
Meet the Laws; a sprawling Chinese-Australian family who are unlike any you have ever seen before, yet might also be strangely more familiar than you'd expect... Based on the hit memoir of the same name, and written by Benjamin Law and Marieke Hardy, SBS's all new six-part series is a show about sabotaged expectations, growing pains, finding your place in the world, and the strange embarrassment we feel towards the people we're supposed to love the most: our family.Andrew's 18th birthday is coming up, and Jenny - with Benjamin's help - is determined to throw him the perfect party. Only problem is, Andrew really doesn't want Jenny and Benjamin meddling. Meanwhile, Benjamin - demoralised by his lack of auditions - is heartened by getting a promotional job through Beryl Streep... involving handing out sausage samples at the local shopping centre. Upon arrival, he is horrified to discover Klaus Thomson doing the same job, having recently been signed onto Beryl's books.
