| Summary |
The mini-series based on Tony Kushner's Pulitzer Prize-winning play. Part 1: Millenium Approaches - Chapters 1-3. Part 2: Perestroika - Chapters 4-6. The Story covers the years from 1985 to 1990, years when the world was turned upside down by a strange discriminatory plague - AIDS. It concerns AIDS-stricken Prior Walter who is adandoned by his lover Louis. Louis trysts with a closeted Mormon, Joe Pitt whose wife, Harper, pops pills to forget the unhappiness of their marriage. The political radical Louis does not realise that his new lover works for the swaggering, cynical attorney Roy Cohn who insists that he is battling liver cancer, not AIDS.
