Following on from his cook's tour through Japan, Adam Liaw returns to the screen to give Australia and New Zealand the Destination Flavour treatment.In this gastronomic road trip of a lifetime, Adam travels along the untouched beauty of Australia's Western Coast, through the baking desert of the Red Centre and onto the tree changer's paradise of northern New South Wales, taking in secret destinations that most city-dwellers wouldn't even know exist. But his journey doesn't end there. Adam then hops over the ditch and gets back in the driver's seat for a culinary cruise through New Zealand. There he discovers some of the world's most spectacular scenery and food.Throughout his journey Adam meets and celebrates a whole new cast of farmers, foragers, artisan food producers, chefs and winemakers, all with appetising stories to tell. They are real people with real stories and their passion, innovation and dedication is what inspires Adam to use their ingredients to create some delicious new dishes.It is one tropical surprise after another when Adam takes to the road around Rockhampton, beginning his trip at a petrol station that's known for making the best crab sandwiches in the state. He meets a fourth- generation farmer producing ginger and watermelon, visits a couple who farm the macadamias they use in their ice-cream, and stops in at the famous Eumundi Markets, where he picks up ingredients for a magnificent golden pavlova. After picking up a few of the region's famous Moreton Bay bugs, Adam hops back in his 4WD and catches the ferry over to Moreton Island for some coastline cruising and cooking.
