With access to maternity units at the forefront on the obesity epidemic, this film follows the trials, challenges and triumphs of two or three severely obese pregnant women at different stages of their pregnancies, as they prepare to bring new life into the world. Obesity now affects 1 in 5 pregnant women and is one of the biggest challenges facing maternity services in the UK. It increases the risk of nearly every pregnancy complication in the book: from miscarriage to foetal abnormalities and even death.
