GEORGIE GIRL traces Georgina Beyer's colorful path -- her rural past, born as George and raised on a farm, through periods of drug use and sex work, to her election in 1999 into national office under Labour Government headed by Helen Clark. Georgina, who is of Māori (indigenous) descent, has been an inspiration to many, an example of a courageous individual who overcame adversity, marginalization and discrimination. .
