The Kadavu Rural Health Project on the Island of Kadavu in Fiji began in 1994 and was completed in 1997. Its goal was to develop an integrated approach to the rural health care delivery system for the Kadavu medical sub-division of Fiji. The project included community participation activities, training of Ministry of Health staff and community personnel, and provision of health care infrastructure, equipment and services. An evaluation in 2000 concluded that the project had made a major contribution to improving the rural health care delivery system in Kadavu
