Summary |
"This text book has been written as lecture notes for the master and postgraduate (licentiate) course on Metamaterials and Nanophotonics which is taught at the School of Electrical Engineering of Aalto University (Finland) from 2016. The course material is suitable for students specializing in electrical engineering and applied physics, especially electromagnetics, nanoscience, and optics. The reader will develop understanding of light-matter interaction at nano (subwavelength) scale and acquire knowledge of recent developments of the theory of optical properties of nanostructures, nanostructured materials and surfaces, as well as their applications. The book presents a uni ed view covering both metamaterials and nanophotonics from the fundamental, basic-principles point of view, o ering short, focused, basic explanations of fundamental ideas behind new developments in this eld in its generality"-- Provided by publisher |
