Summary |
Holliday Grainger, Richard Madden and James Norton star in Jed Mercurio's adaptation of DH Lawrence's legendary tale of love across class boundaries. When Sir Clifford Chatterley returns to Wragby Hall after the Great War a broken man, his beautiful and spirited young wife Constance must adjust to a new life. Clifford, paralysed from the waist down after a horrific spinal injury, rejects any affection, leaving Constance lonely and isolated. Walking through the estate, she meets gamekeeper Oliver Mellors. Also recently returned from the war, Mellors has found refuge in his isolation in nature. Soon their mutual interest in each other and desire for human contact turns into a passionate affair. As the scandal threatens to break, Constance must choose her own future - the intellectual life she has with Clifford, or the sensual and emotional life she has with Mellors |
